ORGANISATIONS AND MOVEMENT THAT SUPPORTS PALESTINE

Palestinians love seeing organizations around the world in support of Palestine – whether it’s from Ireland, US, Nigeria, Spain, UK, and others. It’s one thing to work yourself as a Palestinian organization, but it’s something else to see other organizations around the world devoted to the same cause. Some of these organizations include:

1.   United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNWRA). The UNWRA provides humanitarian aid such as education, healthcare and infrastructure improvement within 27 refugee camps throughout Gaza and the West Bank. With access to clean water and electricity at crisis levels, support from UNRWA is vital to the people in these camps.

2.  Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) This organization provides medical care to sick and injured Palestinian children. To do this, it sends volunteer doctors overseas, sponsors orphans, runs humanitarian programs and works on infrastructure projects. Since its founding in 1992, PCRF has sent over 2,000 children abroad for free medical care and built two pediatric cancer departments in Palestine.

3.  Medical Aid for Palestine
Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP) is a UK-based organization aimed to deliver health and medical care to Palestinians. MAP has been operating for 30 years and they are fully dedicated to reaching out to Palestinian communities in need of health care, especially those affected by occupation, conflict, and displacement.

4.  American Muslims for Palestine
American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) is a national education and grassroots-based organization based in the USA. They are committed to delivering good education to the American public on Palestinian history, culture, and religious heritage. AMP has been operating since 2006 and has offices in several states.

5.  Mundubat
Mundubat is a human rights foundation based in Bilbao, Spain, and has offices in different parts of Spain, Europe, Bolivia, and even one in Jerusalem. Mundubat works for several causes, including Palestine. Recently they’ve developed App Quds, a mobile application that facilitates ethical tourism in Jerusalem and in Palestine. The app is the first of its kind to promote ethical tourism in Palestine.

6.  ACCESS
The Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services is the largest Arab community non-profit in the United States. They have 11 different locations across the country, and have been operating for 47 years. Much of ACCESS’ work is targeted towards Palestine They assist, empower, and improve communities in need.

7.  Federación Palestina de Chile
The Federación Palestina de Chile (Palestinian Federation of Chile) is a community collective in Chile which represents the Palestinian community in Chile, the largest one outside of the Middle East. The Federation also works towards emphasizing the relations between Chile and Palestine, as well as promoting human rights around the world – with a focus on Palestine. At the same time, the Federación Palestina de Chile works towards the development and continuity of cultural identities and relations between Chile and Palestine.

8.  Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign
The IPSC was set up in late 2001 by a group of Irish human rights and community activists, academics and journalists who were deeply concerned about the situation in the Palestine. Their activities revolve around:
1- Organizing public lectures, debates, discussion evenings, workshops and media appearances.
2- Supporting Palestinian refugees in Ireland.
3- Organizing boycott actions and pickets

9.  United Palestinian Appeal (UPA)
United Palestinian Appeal (UPA) is a New York-registered non-profit organization, with headquarters in Washington, DC. The organization works in Palestine and in Palestinian refugee camps in Jordan and Lebanon. UPA seeks to contribute to the long-term socio-economic and cultural development of Palestinian society in Palestine and abroad.

10.  Palestine Advocacy Project:
Palestine Advocacy Project is a volunteer-based  organization which creates public media and education campaigns to educate the world to the Palestinian struggle and advocate for an end to Israeli human rights abuses.

11.  Sadaka – The Ireland Palestine Alliance
Sadaka is an Ireland-based independent, non-governmental and non-party political organization, established in 2009. The organization is fully operated by volunteers that are passionate about being part of the change in Palestine.

12.  US Campaign for Palestinian Rights
The US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) is a national coalition of hundreds of groups working to advocate for Palestinian rights. Founded in 2001, USCPR has been a leading player in the movement for Palestinian rights in the United States.

13.  Palestine Legal
Founded in 2012, Palestine Legal is an independent organization dedicated to protecting the civil and constitutional rights of people in the US who speak out for Palestinian freedom. They provide legal advice, Know Your Rights trainings, advocacy, and litigation support to college students, grassroots activists, and affected communities who stand for justice in Palestine.

14.  Australian Friends of Palestine Association (AFOPA) is non-profit community organization. AFOPA works towards achieving a “just peace for the Palestinian people based on international law and UN resolutions.” The organization pushes lobbying efforts with local governments to take an active role, work on public awareness campaigns, and push local media to accurately represent the situation in Palestine.

15.  MUSLIM AWARENESS INTERNATIONAL: Muslim awareness international is a Nigerian organisation that stands up for Palestinian and have a clear intention in giving visibility to all issues happening in Palestine. 

I have mentioned 15 different organisations throughout the world  now, and as a matter of Fact, they are still many to mention. ..this is the sensitization we need to do. Learn that there are hundreds of organisation that are advocating for Palestine.  So if someone tell you not to advocate for Palestine, please just maintain your stand and look away.
