DIDACTICS FROM HAMZAH IBN ABDUL-MUTTALIB 

......The Master of All Martyrs

Hamzah Ibn Abdul-Muttalib, A great Companion !,

The bravest among the Prophet's Companions,

And the courageous to Identify himself as one of the Companions.

He defended the Prophet as well as other Companions. 

He was a blessing for the Prophet,

Having Hamzah as his Uncle,

And a closer relative to be with,

From their father's and Mother's side.

Hamzah was a great master,

Amongst Quraysh's masters,

And an adornments to its youth,

He was known for his knighthood and hunting. 

 Hamzah was very furious,

When he learnt that,

Abu Jahl and other Quraysh Chiefs,

Had insulted the prophet;

 which is what he hated most.

Hamzah demonstrated his bravery and courage,

He hit Abu jahl with a bow on his head,

And amazed everyone by saying:,

"I follow Muhammad and I say what he says". 

Everybody was silent in disarray,

On hearing that from Hamzah,

He leaves the scene,

And leaves his anger behind.

But, being the mighty Knight of the Quraysh,

And for the symbol of his courage,

He would do everything to assist;

And support his relative (Muhammad).

He told the Prophet to pray for him,

And make his faith forever solid;

His prayer was accepted,

Hence Hamzah was firmly rooted in Islam.

Hamzah lead the Muslims to Medinah,

He was the first man to lead the Islamic Squadron,

He was the first man to raise the banner,

Representing Islam and the Muslims. 

He was the first to volunteer himself;

To fight a duel at Badr;

And also started the attack at Uhud;

Which all surmount to his nickname;

 ''Lion of Allah''.

The Prophet inaugurated the name (Asadullah),

Before the Ethiopian slave (Wahshy) came in;

And determined to kill Hamzah,

He stayed away from fighting, but kept an eye on Hamzah.

Hamzah fell on his back and his armour fell off his stomach,

Wahshy took this chance to kill him,

Then, the Muslims were defeated and escaped helplessly.

The non-believing women approached the battlefield,

Filled with revenge to cut the Muslims bodies,

Hind bint Utbah found Hamzah's body,

And cuts his stomach apart and took his liver.

The prophet weeps on seeing his uncle,

He feels disgusted on what Hind did to his uncle;

And prayed on Hamzah's soul, 

He ended up praying seventy-two times on Hamzah 

Forty years later,

When flood swept the graves of Uhud,

People could feel their fleshes,

Still warm and flexible (not stiff).

When a shovel touched Hamzah's leg,

Blood burst out of it,

Imagine ! Allah's words are truth,

When He says: ''those killed in the way of Allah are not dead but alive with their Lord, and they have provision with Him". 

 (Q:3 vs 69).

We pray Allah continue showering His blessings;

And His endless Mercies, on Hamzah; (ASADULLAH)

And all other noble companions;

And extend on the believing men and women.
